When can my child start kindergarten in Northampton, Florence, and Leeds?
Children who turn 5 on or before August 31 are eligible to start Kindergarten that September.
If your child turns 5 on or before August 31, 2023, they can begin Kindergarten in September 2023.

On Jan 17, 6:00-7:00 pm, there were Kindergarten open houses held at all 4 elementary schools:

* Bridge Street School
* Jackson Street School
* Leeds Elementary School
* RK Finn Ryan Road School

3. ​Next step is CLASSROOM OBSERVATION DAYS*

Sign up for a chance to see your school's Kindergarten classrooms in action!  This is a formal tour with a maximum of 10 adults to reduce disruption to the classrooms being observed.  All 3 on Monday mornings.

Each school will hold its own sign up process.
Call your school to sign up; phone numbers on the poster above.

2. KINDERGARTEN TIMELINE:
  • Dec 6, 5:30-6:30:  VIRTUAL ZOOM KINDERGARTEN INFORMATION NIGHT for parents. Presentation held with all 4 elementary principals, some K staff, the Registrar, and the Early Childhood Center to talk about the Kindergarten program at all 4 elementary schools
  • Jan 17, 5:30-6:30:  KINDERGARTEN OPEN HOUSE HOUR -- simultaneously at all 4 schools (BSS, JSS, Leeds, RR)
  • Jan 23, Jan 30, & Feb 6:   CLASSROOM OBSERVATION DAYS  for parents to visit Kindergarten classrooms at their home school
  • Early March:  KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION DAYS for parents to come to a school to register their child for fall
  • May:  KINDERGARTEN BUDDY DAYS for children to come to the school and spend an hour being shown around by a current Kindergarten student
